What little we do is also accountable in heaven, and the leaser deed will be the greater in the face of the Lord. It simple to find that something as small as a goodbye wish can be the very word to save a soul. God is good...
Merla Plain pulled her purse up and over her shoulder as she started for the convenient store door she always went to. The fast market wasn't very close to home, but it was close to the hospital she worked at while attending a nursing school. On this one day the student nurse, I'll call Merla Plain, was stopped by a supernatural force needing the correct change for a gas station's fuel machine. The force came as a woman, not very noticeable but stepping forward to plead with Merrie for some correct change, that is, two fives for a ten dollar bill.
Pulling her purse strap down from her shoulder Merrie dug through the her purse's contents. Pushing around the leather loaded bag she finally felt her wallet and pulled it out from among the tucked pile she liked to haul around. Returning to face the woman standing beside her, Merla stood reaching out with the two five dollar bills but the woman wasn't there anymore. Stepping forward to look around, the baffled student nurse still couldn't see the needing customer anywhere. Slowly tucking the fives back inside her wallet, she walked over to the store door and tried to pull the open. A gusty vacuum of wind had the door pulled tightly shut. Shrugging her shoulders, Merla pulled her leather purse to her side and headed around the back of the truck then to the closed door to the driver's seat.
In an instant, she seen a strange object laying in the truck's floor bed. Feeling a little on edgy, she stared at the blue square for a few minutes and finally reached out for the object pulling the soft plastic in closer to her. Taking courage she opened the blue wallet only to see an ID card picture jump out at her. The tiny photo was the woman who just moments earlier needed a couple of five dollar bills. The photoed woman smiled up at Merrie, but the startled student nurse couldn't make out the letters to the name.
Toots from a car just behind her grew louder catching her attention all the while her staring down at the picture ID. Jumping behind the wheel, Merla pulled her small truck out of the way and over to the store front's side parking. Sheepishly searching the wallet she found 300 dollars inside the wallet's bill sleeve. Holding the money she had just counted, Merla sat for half an hour hoping the woman would return.
Waiting some time had passed. Digging through the wallet folds, the young Merrie Plain found a bit of folded paper inside the wallet's pockets. Hoping for clues she opened to see a small note written in red ink, "You use it for me. Mom sent it down from heaven for you. We miss you. A." Looking around, Merla sat and smiled intently waiting for the lost woman. Finally residing the needful wasn't going to return, she inquired the store attendant if they new the woman in the ID picture only to get an answer of "No." I sadly replied, "Thanks."
This is a short story of an encounter if the supernatural. The presence of a angel who was sent to help another of God's children. Good deeds are rewarded! I wrote to tell you this story of this one nurse's experience with God and His loving powers as she told me. Miss Merrie Plain knew God had shared His love with her and her young, aspiring love for medicine. Thank you Jesus for helping her she'll do good with Your gift. Though she travels out another gate now while heading for home, she smiles whenever she goes pass that special filling station. Good comes to all who serve the Lord and the Lord is mightily in all His deeds.
